Porsche's lone American factory driver, Patrick Long, will step up full-time from the American Le Mans Series' GT2 class into one of Penske Racing's LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder prototypes in 2008. Long joined Porsche and Penske LMP2 teammates Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas for the LMP2-class win and overall runner-up finish at Petit Le Mans in October. Long has nine ALMS wins in 34 starts and won at least one race in each of the last three seasons. He won the 2005 GT2 champion-ship with Jörg Bergmeister at Petersen Motorsports/ White Lightning Racing. Long also boasts prestigious wins in the 12 Hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
